Jimmy Carter smile!

Jimmy Carter was a speed reader. He could read several hundred words per minute. Throughout his life he used this skill to quickly absorb large amounts of information.

“People make a big fuss over you when you are President. But I am very serious about doing everything I can to make sure that it does not go to my head. “I am an expert typist. I learned in high school. I would close my eyes and just type without worrying about mistakes. I tried to penetrate my heart, and as I let my thoughts drift, things bubbled up to the surface.”

Jimmy Carter authored more than 30 books on a variety of topics including politics, human rights, religion and his personal life. His memoirs have been widely acclaimed.

“On balance, my life has been a constant stream of blessings rather than disappointments and failures and tragedies.”
