Arthur Henderson’s Nobel Prize Medal was stolen. Some other goods were also stolen. It had been kept in the mansion house of the Lord Mayor of Newcastle. On Wednesday 3rd April 2013 the police stated that the raiders probably broke in through the cellar in the middle of the night between Monday and Tuesday. The Lord Mayor Jackie Slesenger did not live in the house in Fernwood Road in Jesmond. The house was used for holding civic receptions and receiving visitors.
